The Dolphins Swim Team offers training and practice groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels. It is the goal of the Dolphins Swim Team to offer skill specific training for all of our athletes geared towards challenging each individual and developing each individual to the best of THEIR abilities.

Developmental I
This is our entry level group. An athlete needs to be able to swim 25 yards unassisted to enter this group.
Developmental I: Colleen J Kanies; Aubrey Swanson
Workout Days/Times: Monday and Wednesday 3:30pm-4:30pm; Tuesday and Thursday 6:00pm-7:00pm
Developmental II
This is the next tier of our entry level groups. Athletes in this group focus mainly on learning four legal competitive strokes, having fun, and perfecting start and turn technique.

Workout Days/Times: Monday and Wednesday 3:30pm-5:15pm; Tuesday and Thursday 6:00pm-8:00pm; Friday 6:00pm-8:00pm
Bronze I
From the Developmental II group, athletes move into this group. This group is exposed to more intense training sets using the clock throughout practice. Competing at swim meets is highly encouraged for this group and regular attendance at practice is also encouraged.

Bronze II
From the Bronze I group, athletes move into this group. Athletes in this group are usually at least 10 years old and have completed the Bronze Group move-up skills list.

Workout Days/Times: Monday and Wednesday 3:30pm-5:15pm; Tuesday and Thursday 6:00pm-8:00pm; Friday 6:00pm-8:00pm
Silver
Athletes entering this group must display a desire to begin training on a more committed basis. Competition at swim meets is expected in this group. Training takes precedence over technique work for the first time in the athlete's development. Athletes in this group train for the 200 Individual Medley and 500 Freestyle.

Gold Group
Athletes entering the Gold group must display a strong desire to perform at the highest level they are capable of. Training is geared towards individual talents, although a strong aerobic endurance factor is present. Athletes in the Gold group are directed towards making their IL/MO YMCA Area Time Standards.

Platinum Group
Minimum criteria for entry is (1) YMCA National time standard and a desire to be competitive on a National level. This group focuses on qualifying for Junior and Senior Olympic Trials.
